8. What does refilling my cartridge do?
Refilling is a form of recycling your inkjet cartridge by replenishing the ink supply and reusing the printhead. By doing so you not only help the environment, but save yourself some money in the process.
9. How many times can I refill my cartridge?
The number of times a cartridge can be refilled depends on the condition of the cartridge and the printheads. The better the condition the printhead is kept in, the longer the cartridge will last, and the more times the cartridge can be refilled. Most inkjet cartridges last longer if you refill the cartridge before it is totally empty, preventing any ink from drying on the nozzles.
10. When should I refill my cartridge?
The best time to refill the inkjet cartridge is before it completely runs out of ink, or immediately after it runs out. Refilling at this time prevents the ink from drying out inside the printhead and clogging the nozzles.
11. Does the use of compatible or remanufactured cartridges void the OEM's warranty on my printer?

No. The following Act guarantees your right to choose which cartridges to use for your printer:

MAGNUSON-MOSS WARRANTY IMPROVEMENT ACT
United States Code Annotated
Title 15 Commerce and Trade
Chapter 50 Consumer Product Warranties
15 Section 2302

“(c) No warrantor of a consumer product may condition his written or implied warranty of such product on the consumer's using, in connection with such product, any article or service (other than article or service provided without charge under the terms of the warranty) which is identified by brand, trade or corporate name; except that the prohibition of this subsection be waived by the commission if:

1) The warrantor satisfies the Commission that the warranted product will function properly only if the article or service so identified is used in connection with the warranted product, and

2) the Commission finds that such a waiver is in the public interest.”

12. Will refilling my cartridge void the OEM's warranty on my printer?
No. Refilling your inkjet cartridge does not tamper with your printer in any way, and therefore does not affect your warranty. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Improvement Act, the consumer is allowed the right to choose any consumable they desire for their printer, and allowed to make any repairs to the printer cartridge they deem necessary. This allows for the use of refill kits and compatible printer ink cartridges.
13. What is the proper way to handle my inkjet cartridge?
Always handle your inkjet print cartridges with care. Never touch the metal printhead or electrical components with your hands. Try to keep ink in your printer cartridges at all times to prevent the print nozzles from drying out. If you plan on storing the ink cartridges outside of the printer, put tape over the print head and keep it in a ziplock bag to prevent air from drying the nozzles out.
14. How do I clean my printheads when they become clogged with dry ink?
Most inkjet printers have a built-in "Head Cleaning" Utility which is very helpful in cleaning cartridge nozzles. If this utility does not solve your problem, place the clogged cartridge inside a shallow dish of warm, distilled water or isopropyl alcohol so that only the print nozzles are submerged. Let the ink cartridge sit there for a few minutes, allowing the dried ink to flow out of the print nozzles. Remove the cartridge from the solution, and gently wipe the printhead off with a soft cloth or cotton tissue. Repeat as needed.
15. What should I do when the printouts have white streaks or spaces?
Check to see if the inkjet cartridge is empty. If there is ink in the cartridge reinstall the cartridge in the printer, and run the printhead cleaning utility from your computer. If you still encounter quality issues, see the above solution.
16. Are all refill kits the same?
No. The ink formulas for almost all inkjet cartridges are different, and therefore most ink cartridges are best refilled with ink specifically formulated for the ink cartridge involved. The instructions and tools involved also differ substantially between cartridges. Our "InkTec" refill kits are specially formulated to match the OEM's specifications such as drying time, density, boiling point, surface tensions, and pH values. In addition, InkTec tests all ink under strict laboratory conditions to ensure the highest output quality at all times. InkTec has illustrated and professionally written refill kit instructions in many languages (See our on line instructions in English). Also, our print head cleaning tools are included in almost all InkTec refill kits as well as special tools to remove the "cap" on many color cartridges.
17. Why are the colors coming out mixed?
This is typically the result of over filling your inkjet cartridge, or filling it too quickly. Sometimes ink seeps into another sponge cavity from the bottom of the cartridge when the ink is pushed into the cartridge too quickly or too close to the print head. this problem can sometimes be corrected by printing text or a box of color in the color which is not printing properly (cyan, magenta or yellow) to remove the mixed color ink from the cartridge.
18. What do I do when bubbles form while I'm refilling?
The bubbles do not affect the printing, but should be allowed to dissolve prior to reinstalling the cartridge in the printer. To correct the problem let the cartridge sit for a brief period of time until the bubbles have completely dissolved.
19. I am still having problems refilling my cartridge, what should I do?
